Helium Leak Testing, Incorporated (HLT) opened its doors for business in 1960 after Mr. Al Markel’s acquisition of Consolidated Electrodynamics Corporation (CEC) of Pasadena, California. His purchase included existing laboratory equipment with all of CEC’s service business.

Since its founding, HLT has introduced many advances to the helium leak detection industry. Most notable among these are the dual high speed test station (QC-DC), the absolute static pressure analyzer and the adjustable helium leak standard (AHLS).  Early developments include  dependable leak testing methods for the pipeline business specific to buried pipelines for the petroleum industry. HLT continues to use a very efficient procedure for leak testing power plants. HLT has been recognized as an instrumental contributor in these fields. With more than fifty years in operation HLT continuously contributes technical expertise and reliable service to the highly specialized and demanding field of industrial helium leak testing, calibration and related vacuum equipment.
